Late Summer Selection

Gallery Luisotti presents a showcase of large-format works for the conclusion of the summer season. Art from the past two decades by John Divola, Barbara Kasten, Simone Nieweg and Catherine Wagner is on view. The main gallery is dedicated to the color black and its many permutations, creating an atmospheric and enveloping environment. John Divola’s Untitled 1990 series of photographic pseudo-abstractions are joined by Kasten’s recent Scenes series from 2012 and Catherine Wagner’s stark images of period chairs set against an infinite void from her Re-Classifying History series of 2005. That monolithic space is ruptured by a magnificent Düsseldorf-school honed image of pea stalks by Simone Nieweg.
